Title: Polyphonic: Enabling Massively Scalable, Ultra Low-Latency Audio Systems with FPGA Technology
Time: 11am UK time, 16th May 2025
URL: YouTube Livestream

Polyphonic simplifies the design of interactive and immersive audio systems by making high-performance computing, once reserved for experts, accessible to all. Through a programmable board that seamlessly integrates with existing audio infrastructures and a dedicated software environment that streamlines programming, our solution enables the development of audio systems capable of handling hundreds of channels with ultra-low latency, more than 100 times lower than current industry standards. At the core of this breakthrough is FPGA technology. FPGAs have long been considered a leading solution for high-speed processing, yet their steep learning curve has kept them out of reach for most audio professionals. Polyphonic removes this barrier by enabling FPGA use without requiring specialized hardware expertise, thanks to our dedicated compiler that leverages the Faust programming language or C++. This unlocks new possibilities for professional audio applications, from active noise cancellation and radio studios to live performances, 3D audio, and augmented instruments.
